WFC Celebrates 25th Anniversary with Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

On June 7, 2025, The WaterFront Center (WFC) marked a monumental milestone—our 25th anniversary! We welcomed community members, local officials, sponsors, and supporters to a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate 25 years of connecting people to the water through education and recreation.

The ceremony featured a symbolic ribbon cutting, symbolizing WFC’s 25 years of dedicated service. We were honored to hear remarks from WFC leadership, local officials, and community partners, highlighting our impact on maritime education, environmental stewardship, and community engagement. A special thank you to Councilwoman Vicki Walsh, Councilman Andrew Monteleone, and Assemblyman Jake Blumencranz for joining our momentous event! We also deeply appreciate the citations and accolades received from Congressman Tom Suozzi, the Town of Oyster Bay, Legislator Samantha Goetz, the Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce, and the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Chamber. A meet & greet with our passionate staff and volunteers followed, giving attendees a chance to dive into our programs and initiatives.

“We are deeply grateful for the support of our community, sponsors, and partners over the past 25 years,” said George Ellis, Executive Director of The WaterFront Center. “Today’s celebration was a testament to the power of collaboration in fostering a love for our harbor and its history.”

We’re so grateful to everyone who joined us to celebrate this milestone. Here’s to 25 more years of inspiring a love for the water!
